It's been criticised by viewers for its 'unnecessary gore and violence', but Netflix's latest hit show Squid Game hasn't put off braver types who have sparked a TikTok trend that sees them act out scenes from the series.
The plot follows a fictional deadly game show in which poverty-stricken characters compete Battle Royale-style to win a £27million cash prize, and features grisly scenes of characters being shot in the head and organ harvesting.
Now, TikTok creators from around the globe have been practicing a game from the first episode in the series named, 'Red Light, Green Light' featuring a loop of the eerie words of a giant killer animatronic doll: 'Mugunghwa kochi pieotsumnida'
Based on a children's game, the person at the front of the group tells those behind them to run when there's a 'green light' and stay still when it's red - with those who fail elimintated by a terrifying animatronic doll.
Fans of the show have posted 200,000 videos TikTok featuring the doll's words, and some have even found real-life versions of 'Mugunghwa' doll to practice including Vanessa Perez, from the Philippines, who found one in a shopping mall.
